I’ve now finished my four EMSCULPT treatments – so what have I noticed so far?
Rock hard abs
Four sessions of treatment have snapped my abs into shape, just like that. They’re a solid wall of muscle. They’ve also made very little complaint about being put through this extraordinary assault course of being obliged to contract at 100% of their capacity – each session of EMSCULPT is the equivalent of doing 20,000 crunches. I know the treatment is designed to ease out the muscles after each round of contractions, and it does, but they still ache gently all-round the edges for three days afterwards.
Improved muscle strength
I know that the muscle gains that EMSCULPT gives take twelve weeks to develop fully, but already I can tell my abs are stronger. When I’m working out, I find I’ve already got that extra bit of assistance that better core strength brings. I tried a plank this morning for the first time in ages, and managed three minutes and yes that was a surprise. In yoga, I can feel the difference in lots of the postures that require a bit more balance and control.
Postural support
One added benefit of having this flexible wall of strength down my front is that, without me having to think too much about it, it is definitely helping me to stand and sit straighter, which helps my dodgy back.
Even though they don’t look different – yet
My abs feel like they’re shaping up fast but no more visible than they were two weeks ago. That’s because they’re hidden beneath a little comfort blanket of fat. The nice therapists at the Thérapie Clinic have suggested that a course of Exilis would help see it on its way, but I reckon I could do the job by cutting right back on sugar, refined carbs, and alcohol for a few weeks. We will see.
