What is it like to have no-needle lip plumpers?
This is my experience of trying the Perk lip plumper.
The Perk device uses suction to get a grip on my top lip as it starts its exfoliating business, which makes me want to pull away, except then I have visions of my lip stretching out like a strand of spaghetti. It’s a really strange feeling as, chunk by chunk, sections of my lips are vacuumed up, gently exfoliated, and at the same time drenched in the plumping solution. After finishing with the Perk device, the practitioner seals the serum in with a coating of lip balm.
My lips are definitely softer and plumper, not least because of the effects of the suction and the slight tingling from the peppermint oil in the serum. I am given the rest of the tube of solution that was used on them, and told to apply this at least twice a day, to keep up the volume. Despite doing this, my lips deflate to their normal proportions before the end of the week. This is worth a try for a short-term fix, perhaps before a party, but don’t expect lasting results.
